With the quality of teachers underpinning our recruitment service, we offer a premium service to not only our franchise partners but to schools seeking anything from one member of staff to a fully equipped start-up teaching team.

Whilst the majority of our requests are for qualified teachers, we can supply all types of school staff, including school principals and senior leaders, teaching assistants, office staff, sports’ coaches and instructors (e.g. dance, drama or music specialists)

A personalised service for your school

When you decide to use our recruitment services, we will discuss YOUR specific requirements. If you are not one of our franchise partners, we will require information from you about your school, so that we may understand YOU as the client, your school’s values, mission and philosophy and your business ethos. All of these factor are vitally important to us so that we may place the most appropriate and suitable teachers in your school.

If a number of placements are required, we will visit your school and gain first-hand experience of what a teacher at your school might expect and then use this knowledge to talk informatively to our candidates. If your Senior Leader is already in post gaining an understanding of their expectations, their leadership and management style is another important part of the process.

We consider your requirements in terms of the package you can offer, the overall profile of your existing team and any regulatory requirements that are placed on overseas teachers and residents.

Most teachers seek overseas posts not only for career development but for the financial and lifestyle rewards that such a position can offer. With this in mind we seek to honestly match expectations with what employers can reasonably offer.

Our candidate assessment process is rigorous and thorough. We believe the teachers we offer you will be of the highest calibre. We have taken time to get to know our teachers. We feel confident not only of their teaching ability and capacity to learn but also of their ability to fit into the team or work as a member of a developing team and, equally importantly their attitudes and dispositions to adapt and change to a new lifestyle.

Belvedere Teachers

Belvedere teachers are enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable and well organised. All of these characteristics are reported as being vitally important when recruiting teachers for overseas. Any teachers who do not demonstrate these characteristics from the outset of the interview process cannot proceed with their application. Our teachers have needed to obtain strong A levels, usually a minimum of three B Grades at A Level with at least one in English, Maths or Science. Most will have at least a 2.1 degree, with some obtained from some the leading Russell Group Universities. They will have attended leading teacher training universities, many of these also graded as outstanding by Ofsted.

Our teachers often have significant life experiences which contribute to their effectiveness as a teacher. They will have travelled overseas and some have either completed placements abroad or lived as a dependent in a variety of countries. We are proud that our teachers have undertaken voluntary work in a wide range of settings, such as providing care in orphanages, English tuition in remote communities, mentoring disaffected young people and coaching of a variety of sports.

Teachers that we recruit will have undertaken a number of challenging placements. They will have experienced diversity in our schools; students with special educational needs, English as an additional language and worked across at least two Key Stages. All Belvedere Teachers will be at least Good, if not Outstanding when assessed against the 2012 Teacher Standards.

The staff we recruit will be expected to participate in your extra-curricular programme, contribute to curriculum development, be flexible in the class that they are appointed to, work beyond the school day, participate in the wider community and be an ambassador for your school.

Our Recruitment Process

Some schools wish us to fully manage the recruitment process for themselves, whilst other schools are looking for a very specific match to a single post.

We will obtain a school profile from you and identify available vacancies. We can draw up a staffing structure for you and identify where leadership posts might be created. If your school is developing we may consider interim staff structures for you and how the school will be accommodated as it increases in capacity. We may need to consider cultural sensitivities when appointing male or female staff and will ensure there is a balance within staff teams of both experience and enthusiasm. If there are any regulatory requirements we will seek your advice on these and ask you to obtain any exemptions or memorandums of understanding, if this is necessary from the relevant authorities.

We will obtain full details from you about the salaries you propose to offer, the housing package and any other benefits attached to the post. This will enable us to advise you about the type of teachers you will be able to successfully recruit and allow you to make any adjustments if this does not meet your expectations.

We will prepare a presentation (electronic and a hard copy) for delivery that best represents your school to prospective employees. When we meet with any candidates they will be made fully aware of what this post offers and also of your expectations in terms of professionalism and general conduct.
